Meditation in Music and Readings in preparation for Christmas

Please have a look at the Advent Meditation on our YouTube channel – Formby Catholic Community. The readers ( Pat Uprichard and Tony Trochear ), the soloist ( Danielle Thomas ) and our own music impresario John Beesley, were truly outstanding. The readings accompanied with carefully chosen Christmas Carols plotted the true meaning of Christmas.  Well Done!

You can download the list of readings and music (shown opposite to print here.

Christmas mass ticketing

Christmas is a time when families attend Christmas Mass as a family and this year will be no different.

However, this year we have the added obstacle of dealing with the constraints and protocols associated with COVID – 19.  The major constraint is space in church has been greatly reduced and hence seating has in turn been limited.  In addition, we have to adhere to the protocols that allow worship to happen in the church.

After weighing up all the options and especially taking into consideration the safety of parishioners and the wonderful volunteers who permit the churches to be open for Mass it has been decided to use a ticket system for access to the Christmas Masses.

The ticket application forms will be available in both St Jerome’s and Our Lady’s church from 5thDecember until the 13th December after Masses.  One form will be allocated per family.

The completed form must be returned to either St Jerome’s or Our Lady’s Presbytery by 5pm on Monday 14th December.  On the Tuesday 15th December seat allocations will be drawn and in the next days those who have been allocated seats will be informed.

Tickets will then be available for collection at the churches over the weekend of the 19/20thDecember and at the Wednesday Mass on the 23rd December.
